Rothenburg

We haven't been able to do as much traveling as I would have liked after living in Europe for 3 years. First we arrived in Germany and shortly after found out we were expecting baby number four. Then we had to endure a deployment in which my husband Matt left for Afghanistan for an entire year. So having a new baby and 3 other children under the ages of 7 I found myself adventurous but in the ways of staying close by. Now that my husband is back and our children are slightly older it's time for us to move again! Our van has been shipped and our things have been packed.

We wanted to take a trip to the beautiful and historic town of Rothenburg before we left Germany. We no longer have a vehicle that fits our entire family. However, our wonderful friends the Perdue's loaned us their van for the day. This is one of the many reasons I love being a military family and knowing other military families. We really do take care of each other when the need presents itself.

On Monday we ventured out for the afternoon to go and explore Rothenburg and the trip did not disappoint. There were no crazy rides, no yummy cotton candy, ok there was warm gluwein and heiBe schokolade, but other then that not many materialistic frills, well there was my tapestry pillow, but besides that the journey was simple and we were together and that made for the perfect day!
